LUZ CARREÑO - TRAINING PROGRAM SUPPORT

Luz Carreño received a master’s degree in Liberal Arts from the Nihon Kokusa Kogakuin College in Japan and a bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has extensive experience in the public sector, having worked for the Colombian Consulate in New York and New Jersey for oDDVver 16 years.

She founded the “Colombia Nos Une” (Colombia Unites Us) program, an outreach initiative that helps to support and strengthen Colombian communities abroad through various initiatives and access to essential services. The program has now been incorporated into Colombia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ strategy and is offered at most Colombian consulates worldwide. Luz has also worked for over 22 years as a Japanese interpreter for United Airlines and founded her own company called Wintia Memoirs, which offers customized illustrated books for children.

She also completed the Hispanic Entrepreneurship Training Program (HETP) and Latina Entrepreneurship Training Series (LETS) with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.
